Before you begin

• Keep the original PDF. Compression results vary and a smaller result is not guaranteed.
• Check the attachment-size limit of the email provider or recipient before starting.
• Use a current desktop browser for a large or image-heavy document.

Step by step

1. 1Open Compress PDF and choose the document you are authorized to process.
2. 2Run the local structural optimization and wait for the browser to prepare a separate copy.
3. 3Compare the original and downloaded file sizes, then open the new copy and inspect important pages before emailing it.

Quality checks

• The new file is actually smaller and remains below the recipient's attachment limit.
• Text, images, links, forms, and page order still work as expected.
• The filename clearly distinguishes the optimized copy from the original.

Important limitations

• The tool optimizes PDF structure; it does not intentionally lower image resolution.
• Already optimized or image-heavy PDFs may shrink very little or become slightly larger.
• If size matters more than visual quality, a full editor with adjustable image compression may be required.

Privacy boundary

This workflow uses an ordinary local tool. Your selected document content stays in browser memory; normal website delivery can still expose standard technical information such as an IP address, browser details, requested public route, and security events to infrastructure providers. Do not use regulated or highly sensitive records unless the service has been reviewed and approved for that use.
